Objective odor evaluation of PP plastic samples

Method: Ion mobility spectroscopy

Plastic recyclates often have unpleasant odors. In collaboration with the Materials Research Institute for Polymer Functional and Construction Materials TITK, we have developed a new measuring system that can quickly and reproducibly predict the odor grade of PP plastic samples.

The measuring system is based on a combination of ion mobility spectrometry and AI-based data evaluation. It is easy to use and generates an objective odor score within a few minutes. In 24 hours, 48 samples can be measured and the odor scores determined.

Material composition of construction waste

Method: Hyperspectral imaging

Every surface and every material in the rubble has its own spectral signature. This characteristic signature can be recorded using hyperspectral imaging (HSI) and special algorithms can be evaluated within seconds.
